A second tab appears and opens Twitter each time I open Firefox and each time I open a new window in Firefox.

My preferences are set to show a blank page when Firefox starts, and Firefox does that just fine. However, Firefox also always opens a second tab that goes to Twitter.com. Unfortunately, this is annoying.

The second tab also happens every time I open a new window. The problem began several weeks ago, possibly after an automatic update.

I have removed Twitter's cookies and my bookmark for Twitter.com. The problem still exists, although (obviously) Firefox no longer automatically signs into my Twitter account.
