After downloading Firefox, I get an error message that says "The proxy server is refusing connections" when I try to use it.

I have just downloaded your latest version of Firefox for my desktop. When I go to open it, I get an error message that says "The proxy server is refusing connections". I have downloaded Firefox in the past with no problems and I don't understand why I am having one now.

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings".

You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy
