Firefox Update sacreen says my Flashplayer is outdated, but it isn't!
Every time I accept an upgrade to Firefox, it tells me my Adobe flash player is dangerously outdated. I have checked it out on the FlashPlayer website, and as best I can tell (and according to an error message I got months ago when I twice tried to "update" from that site), I have the latest version available for Windows 7- 64-bit. (This would be Flashplayer 10.) What's going on here, and what do I need to do? Any words on when the new 64-bit Player will be available? (Last I checked a few mos back, there was no projected date.)

Your version of Flash is 10.0 r45, the latest version is 10.1 r82
You can install the latest version by using the manual installers, for details see http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main_ManualInstaller
Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, it doesn't cover the big problem. This what I get when I go to this link and search for "64-bit". (Yes, I have both versions of IE, 32- and 64-bit. I have read that only the Firefox also has to be in the 32-bit version to work with the latest version of Flash Player 10, and there has been much griping about this on the Flashplayer website forums.):
"...You might be on this page because you can't view content with the Flash Player. This is likely because your computer is running a 64-bit Web browser on a 64-bit operating system and you are trying to install Flash Player. Flash Player does not run in most 64-bit browsers. If you attempt to download the Flash Player in a 64-bit browser that does not support Flash Player, you will see a message from Adobe and a link back to this page. To install Flash Player, use a 32-bit Web browser on your 64-bit operating system. All major browsers are available in 32-bit versions and the Internet Explorer 32-bit browser is the default browser on Windows 64-bit systems.

I should have added that in the recent past when I went ahead with this manual installation, I got error messages saying I already had the latest version, if I remember rightly, and this version was already available for 32-bit. When I went ahead with it, it seemed to me it worked okay with IE 32-bit, but not Firefox.
Read all of item 1. from Abobe site: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main_Determine32bit
Firefox does not have an official 64-bit version.
IE uses a different version of Flash, and some other plugins, based on ActiveX which is a Microsoft proprietary process. Most other browsers use a plugin (non-ActiveX) version of Flash. See: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/ActiveX
- Check your plugin versions: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
- Note: plugin check page does not have information on all plugin versions
- Update Shockwave Flash
- Use Firefox to Download and SAVE to your hard drive from the link in article below
- SAVE to your Desktop so you can find it
- After download completes, close Firefox
- Click on the file you just downloaded and install
- Note: Vista and Win7 users may need to right-click the installer downloaded and choose "Run as Administrator"
- Note: Most browsers other than IE will also get updated with this one download
- Note: To update IE, same procedure but use IE to go: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
- After installation, restart Firefox and check your version again.
