How to restore Thunderbird?

Earlier this week, when Thunderbird updated, I lost access to Thunderbird on my PC. The program is not on my PC. However, I can still get my email on my iPhone and the cloud.

How should I restore Thunderbird? Should I just download and reinstall it? I just want to make sure I still have access to all my old emails and contacts.

Thanks! (a long time Thunderbird user)

What do you mean by 'lost access'? Are you saying that windows reports the software isn't there, or that Thunderbird is prompting for a new email account? You can verify if your contacts and messages are still there by looking at c:\users\<yourid>\appdata\roaming\thunderbird\profiles<profile-folder-name> the addressbook is abook.sqlite and the POP mail is in Mail\accountname folder and IMAP mail is is Imapmail\accountname folder.
