Preferred sending email address for a contact in address book

Over the years I have acquired several email accounts and associated identities.

Is there a way that an entry in the address book can have a "preferred" sending address, such that, when you click on an entry in the address book to complete the "To field", the preferred sender email address is entered in the "From field"?

If I want a different sending email address, I can just overwrite the preferred sending entry.

If not, could this idea be considered an enhancement for future versions of Thunderbird?

Many thanks

Hi tech44

I don't think there is a way to have preferred sending email addresses in Thunderbird. Perhaps in a Thunderbird add-on?

I will pass it onto the team; you can also always suggest new features at Mozilla Connect: https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/idb-p/ideas

Thank you for your response Please pass on the idea to your team ... it has become more relevant because of the length of time I have used Thunderbird / emails and acquired email addresses for various topics / projects in life.

It can be quite embarassing when you find you have inadvertantly used a sending email address from a different topic / project.

Fingers crossed your team will find the idea useful

I will also place the idea on the Mozilla Connect website

Thanks
