I had technical with Firefox recently and lost a bunch of tabs and all my bookmarks. Is there any way I can retrieve all of that? I looked in the preferences history and nothing. Thanks.

Not sure IF your "Preferences" History is what I call History BUT .... For tabs my first Search suggests History/ Recently Closed Tabs / Recently Closed Windows. Per jscher2000 below 

    "3-bar" menu button > History > Recently Closed Windows
   "Library" toolbar button > History > Recently Closed Windows
   (menu bar) History > Recently Closed Windows

Note: Each window also has its own Recently Closed Tabs list. Lost My tabs https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1351172

Bookmarks/ manage Bookmarks/ Import & backup / Restore and / or Import HTML. Restore over-writes anything and Import Adds TO what's there.
