I would like to set the option to delete email from my ISP server after I retrieve them using Thunderbird client. This is fine if I only access mail from one device. Are there features or options within Thunderbird so I can access my email from other devices (i.e. web browser from phone or iPad)?

I have considered setting up my own email server, but will only do this as a last resort.

Thanks

If you access accounts from other devices or with other mail apps, the best way is to set up the accounts as IMAP on all devices, so the mail is synchronized, e.g. a message marked as read or deleted on one device is marked as read or deleted when viewed on any other device. Essentially, mail is managed on the mail server, and reflected in all devices that access the account.
