Firefox appearance changes with each Windows update and I cannot get it back

more options

After last Windows 10 Pro update, KB 5005033 08/12/2021, a number of changes took place with Firefox appearance after the system was restarted after the update. 1. Drop down menus changed to black background with white text. 2. I shut down Firefox 91.0 and restarted it and the drop down menus changed themselves to light gray with black text. Further, the text in the drop down menus, such as bookmarks in folders, is now double spaced. I did absolutely NOTHING to any settings in Firefox! I like Firefox as it was and I don't like change so I did NOTHING. 3. When a YouTube video is playing, the word PLAYING appears on the Tab. This is not a problem but it is a change I did not make. Two screen prints are attached. I am not a programmer. I am terrified to delve into about:config unless someone can give me guidance and if there are settings there that can fix my appearance issues. Note: None of the Chromium based browsers, Chrome, Brave, Edge, Vivaldi on my PC were affected. I have been a faithful Firefox user since version 1.0PR installed on 10/15/2004 I would appreciate any and all help! Thank you!

Correction! In the title I said after EACH update. That is not correct! It occurred after the LAST update. Sorry!

The double spacing arrived with Firefox 89 so I don't know why you are seeing it only with Firefox 91 if you didn't change anything in about:config. The only way to change the spacing is with a file userChrome.css which you would have to create. Code is available online if you are willing to use it.

You may achieve the colour change by changing themes. Go to Customize toolbar (right-click on a toolbar) where you can change to a different installed theme.

Thank you for this information. I want to keep my current theme but without the black background. I see many others have complained about this same issue. I have decided that after 14 years of faithful support, I shall join the 56 million who have ditched Firefox and change to another browser.
