Although Firefox 78.7.1 ESR 64bit does install under Windows 10 Home 64 bit Versions 2004 & 20H2, the application simply refuses to load displaying the Windows 10 rotating blue circle hinting of an underlying problem with Firefox, Task Manager confirms that Firefox is not loaded and hung as an application. Although Mozilla stipulates that Firefox 78 ESR is a Windows 10 compatible application, that compatibility must have ended with Windows 10 version 1909.

I run Windows 10 Home 64bit on a plain vanilla Intel Z170 chipset desktop computer, equipped with 64GB DDR4 2133 memory, AMD Firepro V4900 graphics card & no other exotic or esoteric component hardware .

That very same hardware previously ran Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit perfectly & ran Firefox 78.7.0 ESR without any issues.

I have therefore decided to drop the Mozilla ESR releases and go with the current version 85 instead which installs & runs perfectly under Windows 10 Home 64 bit in either version 2004 or 20H2. By the way I did configure Windows 10 Home to use Firefox as my default browser but since Firefox 78.7.1 ESR never managed to load and run properly I could not confirm if Firefox knew it was the default browser.
