I changed to Firefox 76.
For the first time Firefox Lockwise asked me for a password. I entered the password that I have kept a secure copy of, but Lockwise refused my password and has locked me out of all my 138 passwords. I am working on my own PC. Every time prior to this it has opened up and let me access any passwords I needed. What can I do... My Privacy and Security settings does not have the Master Password ticked, so I don't understand why it is suddenly doing this and I have read articles for 2 hours and nowhere does it help.

This is your system user password, not a firefox pwd.
Hi, Thank you for answering, but I don't entirely understand.
It is the only password I have for Firefox generated when I created an account. I don't understand why it is asking for a password to access my Logins, when i never generated one. Either way, my passwords work to open accounts, but I can no longer use the eye facility to see them when I could last time I opened Logins and Passwords.
What do I do now?
Thanks,
SS
This is the password for your Windows user, the one you type in to enter the system.
Not password you generated in Firefox.
See Firefox asks for authentication (password, voice, face or fingerprint) when accessing passwords.

Hi Ty,
I apologize for being so persistent. I think you are suggesting that it is a Windows password that is required and I have taken a screenshot, that states that the password is required by Windows Security. Is that the password I use to open up my computer? I have tried that password and it did not work. I am not aware of any other Windows password, and don't believe I had one apart from the one mentioned above. Do you have any suggestions about how I might resolve this situation? I have attached the screenshot.
Kind regards,
Suzanne
Hi Suzanne, you could set up a new password for your computer and than try again.
