Last night firefox updated. Now today it will not launch at all. I try from tool bar, programs. control panel. I double click, nothing. I right click and try to say open new window, nothing, open new tab, nothing, open tabs that had been open and are still showing after right click do nothing either.

I do not want to reinstall a new version as I think that all my bookmarks (years of bookmarks) will be gone. Is that information stored somewhere on my system so I can reload it? This would be a disaster to lose all my bookmarks. Help, thank you.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles Once save Profile Then uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved.

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.4 with a Full Version Installer

Alternatively you can : Create a new profile as a TEST to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem. Never work with original files.

fyi for future :

Mozilla put out a new release, I downloaded it and all my tabs and bookmarks were restored.
