How to make Firefox display the custom profile shortcut icons on dock when open
Hello,
This is my first time posting and I'm still new to a almost all of the concepts I'll be trying to outline, so please let me know if clarification is needed (and just as a forewarning, I may need to ask follow-up questions as I'm still learning!)
I recently created a second Firefox profile to separate work from personal and found an article about running them simultaneously. I have done that with success through creating two "apps" through using the "run shell script" in Automator on my mac (with the -no-remote command on the end) Here is what one looks like (with profile name "TheFirst"): http://screencast.com/t/4CsFTvexIl0f
I was successfully able to assign custom icons to each app/shortcut and dragged each into the dock: http://screencast.com/t/P228JmUVaI1 (the one on the right is the second profile).
What I cannot figure out is if it's possible to make it such that after clicking on either to launch Firefox, those icons are used. At the moment another generic Firefox icon appears. This screenshot is with both profiles open (so two Firefox icons): http://screencast.com/t/IZYQyjfz
Is it possible to have the custom icons be "active" as well? I've tried searching for this, but it's a rather difficult thing to find narrow/specific enough search terms for it seems.
Please let me know if there is more information I can provide that would be of help. It looks like my Firefox version and OS are already included.

You will not be able to change the generic icon of the firefox. Basically you just changed a shortcut icon. We are unable to provide any further assistance.

Oh okay. Well that's unfortunate. This may not be the place, but I noticed Firefox support popped my picture into my profile.. I tried to change it and it sent me to Gravatar. I deleted it from Gravatar but it's still here on this profile.
Hi Eliizabeth, I use Linux or Windows but mot Macs, so I would not be able to answer questions relating to Mac setup & icon use even if I wanted to. Anyway such a discussion would be off topic for this forum and best discussed on some Apple related site.
The usual method of setting up a second Firefox account as far as most users are concerned is simply to set up another Operating System account for the second user or second purpose.
More advanced users, often involved with testing or development work, set up multiple profiles, then use the -no-remote option if they need to run them simultaneously.
As for this forum using Gravitar icons, i could never really understand why we switched to using those. After all Mozilla Firefox is often against tracking and fingerprinting of browser users, yet Gravatar use probably enables that. We switch to different forum software soon and as far as I am aware that is not using Gravatar. Your Gravatar icon seems to have been successfully deleted now.

Note the profile picker is a largely undocumented new feature, and probably not even fully functional, but it will open Profile locations and create new profiles. Key in to the addressbar
