You can set up the sort anyway you want. Open the History Manager, then click on the header (site, visited . . .) you want to sort by.

That would be sorting to Most Recent Visit in the History Manager (Library). Note that you can make more columns visible by right-clicking the column header or via the Views menu.

In the history sidebar (View History Sidebar; Ctrl+H) you can click the View button to select a different view (By Last Visited).
