I am very confused because after updating (I show late April on my records) to Version 15.007.20033.2203 (which I had never seen any number such as this previously). Firefox stated it needed to be updated and at that time I did it. It had it shown as 2015.007.20033.2203.

NOW, Adobe is coming out with a new update for this one. It was 11.0.10.32 BEFORE the Firefox update to the strange Version number. I have not had any problems with this one, however I have the option selected to "ask to activate", and it NEVER asks to activate, however I can still view the PDF files.

What is wrong with this picture? I am utterly confused. When I click on update plug-ins it shows "up to date". If I click on this it shows me the same version again that was downloaded in April. Which Adobe program is the computer using to access the PDF files when the selection is "ask to activate"?? My concern is WHICH Adobe program is being utilized, and if the Firefox is supposed to be the default why does it not "ask to activate". If the PDF's are showing up without a problem is the Adobe "old version" still functional?? Should I try to find the old Adobe Acrobat Reader program and delete it? I do not want to have a security problem.

NEED SOME HELP HERE PLEASE. I have no clue as to whether the Adobe PDF's I'm seeing (from various sources) are using the ADOBE program or the Firefox program. All recommendations will be most sincerely appreciated.

I mentioned the March date as the "update" date, which is what FF is showing, however it was actually late April. Boudica said

How did the program update? Was it a web pop-up?

The best thing to do is to remove the current program totally, then download the full installer.

Adobe Reader Version 2015.007.20033

Adobe has 11.0.10 for Windows 7+8 for download at http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/ however Adobe did have a recent update (May 12) in Reader to 11.0.11 as can be noted Here.

11.0.10 is not recent as it came out on December 9, 2014 actually.

Fred, and James:

The update which I referred to as being a Firefox update was installed by Firefox when I checked to VERIFY the plugins to see if they were up to date. Firefox showed that 11.0.10.32 required updating and I clicked on it to update it. Firefox opened the Adobe update site and this is where it was downloaded from.

That was approximately late April, and the NEW version is 2015.7.20033.2203 as I mentioned. It was the FF plugin update that opened the Adobe Acrobat DL site for this program. The old one referenced as being outdated was the 11.0.10.32.

Now I note from another website that provides information on various updates and changes in programs , including Adobe Reader, that there is another update to the old one (11.0.10.32 installed 12-2-14) from Adobe.

The present version which I referenced above is functioning properly, THE VERSION SHOWING IN MY PLUGINS IS THE ONE FIREFOX OPENED THE DOWNLOAD WEBSITE FOR (15.7.20033.2203) REFERENCED ABOVE AND IT IS SHOWING "UP TO DATE". It is functioning properly.

This is definitely a Firefox update. This was not installed from a pop-up on the computer. Unless Firefox provides information that this plugin is Is NOT up to date, I must assume that is correct.

Thank you for your suggestions.

I have only one Adobe Acrobat Reader, and I found the shortcut on the desktop. The properties reflect the installation date was April 27, 2015. Shown as Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

It appears that everything is in order and functional. Thank you once again for your suggestions.
