Yesterday was the first time that I was unable to send an email either a new message or a reply. The message box is as follows: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <XXXX@charter.net> sender rejected. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.

I called my email server, Charter/Spectrum and they said everything looked okay on their end. I have read the support questions on this website and followed suggested ideas. Nothing helps. Before yesterday emails were sent without a problem. I have no idea where to go from here. Thanks for any help.

Dear all, I have a couple of calendars on the disk as network calendars (file:///...ics) with offline support, and I just realized that I cannot delete any event. These calendars are not read-only, I can see the option delete, both with right-click on the event and double-click to edit the event, but after pressing delete, the event remains on the calendar. Just pressing the delete button on the keyboard after selecting the event has the same behaviour. If I try shift the events from one calendar to the other, they do appear in the new calendar, but they do not disappear from the old. I have restarted Thunderbird, and also tried this on another computer with the same results. Both szstems are Windows 11, Th underbird 115.10.1 I would be very grateful for any suggestions

Our organization uses GoDaddy which worked fine with Thunderbird until GoDaddy migrated to Microsoft Exchange 365/Outlook. According to GoDaddy, Microsoft does not allow any of the authentication protocols offered by Thunderbird for SMTP outgoing messages.

Thunderbird has helpfully added a Microsoft 365 option for SMTP settings in the latest update, but when you click that it says that you have to get a third-party paid app called OWL to make it work.

My question to Thunderbird: is this going to be the only answer to this problem or is it being worked on? Background is that the organization I work with has the GoDaddy Account so I have no control over that choice. I've used Thunderbird to keep my email out of the clutches of Microsoft Outlook and would like that to continue. I've also been donating to Thunderbird for years so I'm not opposed to paying. I just don't think I should have to use a 3rd party app for basic functionality.

I'd like to be able to configure the format of numbered lists, both for a particular list in an email, and as a default template that will apply to all future emails that I compose.

I can find no documentation on how numbered lists are supposed to work. Mine are currently giving me roman numerals at all levels, e.g.

1. Top level

 1.  Next level
   1.  Lower level

I've come across some interesting options, including particularly https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1052897, which I've tried, but it doesn't work for me.

Please help!

In or around TB 91.3.1 double-clicking on an event, you get a dialog box such as the attached. In order to edit the event, you have to hit the Edit button. In the past, TB would just open the event and allow you to edit it. If the event was recurring then, and only then, would a small dialog box come up to ask if you were editing just this event or all events. I see no advantage to this extra dialog box, especially for one-time-only events. It's just another unnecessary click of the mouse.

I have been getting unsolicited advertising from many vendors that all have similar headers. There is a strange character that looks like 4 zeros, 2 on top and 2 on bottom that I cannot copy to make a junk filter. It looks like it is a spacer between characters. I have been junking them manually but wonder what the characters are and how to junk them automatically. I have tried to go to the bottom of the email to unsubscribe, but the unsubscribe goes to the vendor. I am wondering what the strange character is and how to automatically dump it. I am attaching some of the headers as a jpg file.

Hi there Folks, YES I donate every year, been using TB for, maybe since it started. Recently have had a number of serious security incidents !. In writing this suggestion/request, may I as an Older person suggest in your HELP, you have a "Wish List" !. In looking thru lots of themes & apps nothing equates to what I would like and maybe many others. Wish No 1. TB powers up in "Offline" mode, (DEFAULT ). ALL Systems, Windows/Linux. Wish No 2. Enable H/W interrupt to stop programme immediately if conconcerned ! ( suggest Cntrl/Return ) Wish No 3. Download messages into main email folder with subject line, Then "STOP" !. In UK I use BT IMAP as main server, I have several email folders with different passwords. Recently on TB ver 102.10 Win10 64bit. SMTP will not link to server, checked out passwords & direct on BT, ALL OK. This time I set "Pasword Manager" box ! since then NO problems (YET ). This leads me to believe we have a BUG/Corruption of password when using SMTP without "Password Manager" ?. No doubt SMTP picks up paswords from different places, Ie " Profile " or " Password Manager " Wish No 4. LETS GET SOME COLOUR !!! I would like to have "Sub Main Domains". These "Sub Main Domains" could have a choice of different colours, which would help other folk to use TB easier, also resize for poor eyesight, maybe a good little marketing statement ? These Sub Main Domains wlii not allow data entry but if clicked will bring up option "Create New Sub Folder".

Dear support team, My thunderbird freezes temporarily whenever it is checking for emails (IMAP accounts). It is as if the thread that takes care of the GUI/user interaction is blocked while the emails are being checked. I have version 102.4.2 on a Ubuntu 22.04 system (lenovo thinkpad T440s), but it has been going on for a couple of months already (so the problem must have appeared already with several earlier versions). I had exactly this problem already before a recent OS update from Ubuntu 20.04. I have also another computer with Ubuntu 20.04, where I use thunderbird, with the same IMAP accounts set up, and where I never had this problem. Do you have any idea what could potentially be going on? Thank you very much in advance. Best regards, Matthias

Windows 10 pro, TB version 115.3.2, tried to underline a word when writing an email, cursor moved to front of the first sentence of paragraph I was writing. Tried several more times, just in case I'd hit a wrong key. Same result every time. I don't use underline much so no idea if this is the result of updating to 115.3.2 which made quite a few other changes to the look of TB that I don't like & make it harder for me to quickly skim what's in my inbox/been routed to inbox folders, & read emails. Also unable to rearrange what's in the bars into most convenient set up for me. But I'm sure all that's unchangeable and I'm just supposed to get used to it or switch to a different email client, so I'd settle for finding out why the underline fx isn't underlining.

This is apparently an unusual thing, I've searched for months and found no mention. Most contacts in my address books receive, forward, reply to emails in Thunderbird as you'd expect. There is one frequent contact, and possibly only one contact, person in my address books with whom this strange thing happens. And it happens not all the time, but frequently. A message will arrive with the header showing from 'Bob' and to 'Me'. As you'd expect. When I hit 'reply', the blank response message is created from 'Bob' to 'Me'. Opposite of what it should. Naturally, I assume Thunderbird is doing what it always does and I don't notice that, going straight to the reply. Until my reply hits my inbox seconds later, as being from 'Bob' to 'Me' and is not saved in the Sent folder. Usually I just forward that received mail to 'Bob', who at first got confused that I'm forwarding my own response. It seems to happen in batches, but then another message from 'Bob' to 'Me' will reply normally from 'Me' to 'Bob'. Always the same accounts. Both accounts are gmail, if that matters.

Greetings All;

I am having issues with sending email to text, I used to be able to send out messages to (MobileNumber)@msg.koodomobile.com or to ((MobileNumber)@msg.telus.com with no issues, now I can not longer do this. I tested my other emails using Outlook and Gmail and they send without fail.

Is there any way to correct this , did this change with the last up date, please advise. Thank you

Thunderbird 102.6.1 Windows 10 on HP desktop PC. Only one message selected for deletion but TB deletes all contents of folder. Deleted emails normally go to DELETED bin but this folder has also been emptied. No changes made to TB or to Fastmail, this system has been faultless past five years. Tried Repair Folder, no luck.

Running MacBook in safe mode, have disabled all third party apps, have deleted permission for all apps to run in background. Doesn't help.
