How to put the find bar (Ctrl+F) at the top of Firefox instead of the bottom

My search function or find function bar or whatever it's called (Ctrl+F) to find words in a document has always been at the top of the page of Firefox, always. But ever since I let them update me to the most recent one, FIrefox 25 or something, it is now at the bottom and I am really saddened by this.

I don't mind that they changed the design, but for heaven sakes all I'm asking is you move it back to the top or tell me how. I'm not looking for added nifty doodads or add-ons or large segments of code to try to fix this, I just want you to move it to the top instead of bottom.

hello smooth_turns, the findbar in firefox has always been on bottom per default - maybe you have used an addon or custom userstyle in the past to achieve otherwise...

this is an addon that purportedly can move the findbar to the top of the content: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/findbar-tweak

I do appreciate this but it's just that, I really don't want to get a hundred different add-ons to bog down my firefox everytime they change one little thing here and there. It's not a viable solution in the long run.

Is there anything in the about:config page that may change the find bar from bottom to top?

No there is no about:config pref, recently Mozilla almost moved that Findbar to the top, but found that putting it there bumped down webpages and the only way to prevent that was to make it dumbed-down.

Another weird thing that's odd. Other browsers like chrome or opera have their find bar features on the top. It is completely illogical to believe that firefox's default location was at the bottom, I just know it's not. I've been using the same firefox for the past 5 years on the same computer. I know what I saw.

let's refer to firefox' own documentation to settle that matter: How to search the contents of the current page for text or links

as in the past you'll have to use an addon or customization to move the findbar to the top - there have been slight changes in the design of the findbar in firefox 25, maybe your customizations have to be adapted to that in order for them to work again...

I know it's at the top are you sure when you say "always" at the bottom? Are you talking in terms of 2009? 2008? Previous years? I know it's always been at the top and I'm not one for addons, I have stylish and imagezoom for the past 4 years, and have recently added adblock plus and 'grab and drab' to the mix this year. Of course find bar was still at the top then.

It was at the top and the actual place where you type the word was to the top right, god I wish I'd screencapped it because now it's been 3 weeks since this has happened and I'm doubting myself what it originally looked like...

EDIT: Never mind there was a user styles type formula to put the find bar to the top

I'll try it out for a few days and if it's working fine I'll consider the problem a-ok.
