I repeatedly click "share my location" and it doesn't remember my setting for the website - how can I make it remember?

Question says it all. The site asks for geo info, Mozilla pops up a box asking permission, I click yes. Then without even leaving the page, the site queries geo info again, Mozilla pops up a box again.

This behavior makes geo impossible to use.

Chosen solution

You can manage the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab here and set an allow exception for Share Location.

  • Tools > Page Info > Permissions

You can access Page Info via the right-click context menu on a web page and via the Tools menu (press F10 if the menu bar is hidden).

You can inspect and manage permissions for all domains on the about:permissions page via the location bar.

Are you allowing that site to set cookies? Apparently, the geolocation identification number is stored in a cookie. See this page:

@finitarry - not a cookie issue. I always allow them.

@cor-el That was it ... Tools > Page Info > Permissions > Share Location

Developers are going to need to hold people's hands to get them to figure out how to make their websites work with geo capabilities. It should be possible to change this setting from the pop-up. Would also be nice if Mozilla fully supported the HTML5 call to get GPS coords - but that's another thread.
