Restoring tabs from a lost session is now done after restarting through the History menu ("Alt+S") with "Restore previous session".

You can still have the old messages, to make sure you get your tabs restored immediately, but with or without the messages and whichever way you respond to the message you can still get back your previous session through the History menu.

You can make Firefox 4.0.1 and Firefox 5.0 look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)

Well, this option is showed as unavailable too, I can´t click on it because font is grayed out.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

  • https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Private+Browsing
  • You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
  • To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
  • Deselect: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
