Opera and others allow the tab bar (their name for the bookmarls tool bar) to take as many lines as needed to display ALL the bookmarks it stores. Why now FireFox too?

You can add that functionality with the Multirow Bookmarks Toolbar extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/multirow-bookmarks-toolbar
