I had to reformat Windows 10 PC after blue screen. My files are OK, the PC wouldn't boot (had to reformat, rebuild). I found the Thunderbird files are OK. Can I copy those to the newly formatted c-drive and get it to work if I go to the exact same places/folders? Will I need to change a registry entry or an INI file? The files look good and in tact - close to 17GB where the emails are stored. I thought IMAP would bring the files back, but they are not all there. I will probably try this tomorrow no matter what, but wondered if there was advice. Using Windows 10 Pro, Thunderbird, Firefox, Chrome...

What exactly did you find? Unless you can restore an existing backup I'd be surprised if you found all the data on a reformatted drive.

What you're looking for is the Thunderbird profile folder. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird

You can find your old files after reformatting on Windows.old in your C: drive.
