More often than not, when I try to use the browser download manager to do a "Save as" to the desktop, It fails the first time, and I have to repeat the action.

It can be a right click on a link "Save As", or by using my "Save Page WE" addon.

I don't know it is the browser or windows causing it, but I don't have the same problem when using Free Download Manager, Eagleget or any other third party download manager.

So what is the site so others can test the problem your describing?

It is possible that security software (anti-virus, firewall) is causing the problem. Try to disable security software temporarily to see if that makes a difference.

I have windows defender, nothing more.

I never considered a site was responsible, but maybe. It doesn't happen every time, and it happens on different sites, That's what makes it odd.

The next time it happens, I will report which site.

Is this experienced by anyone else?

Here's a typical example of what I'm talking about

Cookie Manager

The problem happens when I try to download the addon with the "save as" option.

That site is a Browser install not a "Save As" site. Addon site like the one posted are not "Save As" site.

Respectfully, I think you are confusing "saving" with "installing".

I'm trying to right click on the "Add to Firefox" button in order to save the .xpi file to the desktop.
