When will Firefox support H.265 codec? It's quite shame that Firefox and other browsers do not support it in 2018 when it's initial release is from 2013 when most of the new TVs does support this codec and new H.266 will be available in 2019.

Thank you.

Hi,

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.

The only browser that will support H.265 is Edge, but only when hardware decoding is available.

McCoy - there is an open source software decoder called libx265 that could be implemented in Firefox quite easily. I wonder why FF devs did not implemented it yet.
