Not responding. As soon as Thunderbird open's it goes into '(Not Responding)'

This has been a re-occurring issue for me over the past 3-4 years. So far the only solid solution I have found is buying a new computer or re-setting my entire laptop to factory settings.

I've re-installed 3-4 times.

I don't use 3rd party anti virus, only Windows Defender and I've made sure that Thunderbird is set up to have an exemption.

What is getting changed in my system settings to cause this issue.

If it's any help I first started to see these issues when the auto pop up box in the bottom right hand corner launched when a new email came in. It only used to lock up for a couple of seconds. Now as soon as I launch thunderbird and click on anything it freezes up. I've attached a screen shot.

The program thunderbird.exe version 52.9.0.6754 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.
