Firefox crashes Version 40

This all starts when I notices the popup message at right bottom corner of my screen and clicked update. What happens next as follows: 1. Firefox asked to restart now or later to complete the update. 2. I have selected restart now. Firefox gone to restart. 3. But it never came back that puts my Windows explorer hangs. 4. Then I logged off and logged in again. 5. Clicked Firefox icon on task bar to start the browser. 6. It prompted Crash report window with "Restart Firefox" and "Quit Firefox" 7. I have selected restart 8. Again came to same crash report window. 9. Eventually I tried Quit Firefox and Safe mode. 10. Nothing works. 11. I have tried to uninstall it (but couldn't delete the Mozilla folder in C drive). 12. Downloaded new version "Firefox Setup Stub 40.0" and installed it in D drive. 13. Still getting crash report window only whenever I try to open it.
