I can view the same videos on Chrome, but not on Firefox. This problem started in FF30 and continues in 31. When in FF, the status of a video shows as a static picture, https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=..... When I click on the video in FF, I get a new page, with a black window where the picture should be, with site info in a white window next to the black window. When I click on the video in Chrome, the video plays. I upgraded to Shockwave Flash 14.0.0.179, with no change.

Sorry to hear that. You can try to do:

1) A profile reset: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems

or

2) Upgrade to Aurora (after the profile reset, if the problem in FF31 still exists): https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/#aurora
