It's all in the title really. FF won't display any videos. In Youtube, the screen is black, apart from the red "play" button in the middle. When I click play it says "an error has occurred". In any other video sites the video section is blank, white. I have uninstalled/reinstalled both Firefox and Adobe Flash Player. Firefox is also fully updated.

hey mick3690, this is probably due to the recent update of adobe's flash plugin to version 11.3. it has caused similar problems for many other users (chrome & ie get supplied with a different version of the plugin by adobe).

you can try to remove flash 11.3 from the windows control panel/programs section & downgrade to a prior version until adobe fixes those issues.

Thanks for your suggestion, but it won't install. I have downloaded the plugin 10.3 but when I go to install it, I'm told to download the latest version of the plugin, and the only option I have is to cancel installation. Any ideas?

you have to uninstall flash 11.3 first before you run the setup of the 10.3 version of the plugin

I'm not sure if I uninstalled the 11.3 plugin because I'm still getting the same error. I went to "Tools","Add-ons", "Plug-ins" and I disabled "Shockwave Flash 11.3". Did I do anything wrong?

hello, yes, you'd have to uninstall flash from the windows control panel in windows7 (just diabling it in firefox won't work in this case). alternatively you could run the uninstaller-tool that adobe provides on its website: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

Greeting Guys, I followed your instructions to the letter but still can't get Youtube or other videos to display or play in Firefox. Chrome and Explorer work just fine.
