Hello! As said, my laptop died suddenly a day ago. I had Firefox Sync activated. I have now installed Firefox in the new machine, logged into Sync but Sync is not syncing anything. Not even being able to "see" that I had a laptop before.

Any options to bring back my bookmarks?

Hi Bithiah, saddly it doesn't. The standard tips presume there is at least one computer "on" and connected to Sync. In my case, the only one "alive" is the new one.

Then I guess I really can’t help you with that. Sorry!

Hi Bithiah, the problem has not been resolved and this is still a prolem for me. Given that there was no other active Firefox browser with this account configured, all markups have been lost apparently. If there is no solution and this is the way it works, would be interesting for all to know.

Thanks, Eduardo.

Hi Eduardo!

I really believe there isn't a solution to this. Please keep me posted on how things on your computer go. If it gets really bad, I would have to escalate this problem.

Kind regards,

Bithiah

Hi Bithiah, as you stated, there is no solution to this. As I understand it, Firefox does not store the bookmarks & passwords centrally so if all the devices with a given account disappear, bookmarks & passwords are lost once a new device logs in with that same account.

Being that correct, this problem has no "solution".

Laptop died. What does that mean? Can you take old hard drive out and put it in a usb external case or put the old drive in the new laptop?
