I'd like to set up a certain email address, but the "search" function does not find any exact match. Would it be possible to register an exact address? Thank you

You mention the word 'search', it also sounds like you are trying to use a different provider eg: gandi.net to create an entirely brand new email address.

So the question is this: Are you trying to set up a mail account for an existing email address? If yes, then use 'Menu icon' > ' New Message' > 'Existing Mail Account'

If you are trying to create a brand new email address using one of the providers listed.... 'Menu icon' > ' New Message' > 'Get a New Mail Account'

Note this is method creates email address with the selected provider and has nothing to do with Thunderbird. You may be charged by that provider. Type in the exact one you want and the search will then provide closest available match selection. They cannot offer what is not available as it may be already registered with someone else.
