When I type in the URL and Search boxes, I am brought to ebay, no matter what I've typed
The only way around this is to make it a complete web address. So typing in 'firefox' would bring me to an ebay search of 'firefox' things, while firefox.org would actually bring me to firefox.org. Duckduckgo is gone.

hi, please make sure that the right default search engine is set within the firefox options: Change your default search settings in Firefox

You can consider to disable the location bar search and set this pref to false on the about:config page
- keyword.enabled = false
