You can right-click the plugin area and check the HTML code in the Inspector via Inspect Element.

Check if there is a containing OBJECT tag with a type attribute.

Just to be sure that it isn't the Shockwave Flash plugin, make sure that you have installed this plugin and that it is enabled.

  • Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins

How I have install Adobe Flash Player?

"As the super user, copy the extracted file, libflashplayer.so, to your Firefox installation directory's plugins sub-directory. For example, if Firefox is installed in /usr/lib/mozilla, use the command sudo cp libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and then enter your super user password when prompted."
