I was having problems with igoogle and I uninstalled firefox,figuring i'd start over. when i open chrome it opens with the firefox page. firefox is supposeddly uninstalled and isn't listed in the add/remove programs. ?????

All my gadgets disappeared from igoogle running under firefox. I tried a number of fixes and ended up uninstalling firefox,figuring I'd start over. When I opened chrome it opened with the firefox home page. firefox no longer appears in the add/remove item. what's going and what do i do to fix it. i'd like to reinstalling firefox and igoogle. This is on an xp/sp3 machine but the gadgets aqlso disappeared from a W7 machine.
