Labels in Gmail have text that is always black; in IE, text changes from black to white depending on how dark the label's color is: can this be corrected in Firefox 3.6.13?

When I create labels in Gmail, I use a variety of colors to identify and categorize my emails. I prefer using Firefox, but there is a problem. In IE, the color of the label's text changes from black to white depending on how dark the color is. So, for example, if the label's color is a baby blue, both Firefox and IE will use black text. However, if the label's color is dark blue, Firefox will still use black text, but in IE the label changes to white. As a result, the labels in IE are much more readable. Can this problem with Firefox be changed by a user in Firefox 3.6.13? If so, how?
