Files in box.com cannot be accessed in Firefox, but I have no problem with IE or Chrome. Is there a fix for this?

When I click on the folder in box.com using either Chrome or IE, I get a list of files. When I click on same folder in Firefox, nothing happens. I did reinstall/update Java and Adobe Flash. However, when I look under Applications tab under Tools>Options, Flash does not appear. Is it possible that even though Flash is installed on my computer and accessible through Chrome and IE, that somehow Firefox is not accepting it?

I finally found a solution to my problem. Went to Help>Trouble Shooting Information, and then clicked on the Reset Firefox button. Works just fine now. Thanks for your suggestions.

Flash should appear as "Shockwave Flash" here:

orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Plugins category

There have been some compatibility issues between Flash and some Firefox add-ons or settings. Could you see whether anything in this article helps: Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox.

You might also consider disabling the protected mode in Flash 11.3+, since that feature is currently being debugged. See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?

Last but not least, when you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

1. Clear Firefox's Cache

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here (this will log you out)

While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

The Flash plugin shows in the system details list in your first post, so Flash is installed and should be working.

You can try to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox Profile Folder to reset all file actions.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder

Thanks, I tried your suggestions, but no luck. I don't believe the issue is with Flash since other things work with flash in Firefox. I'm really just trying to open a folder, so I don't think that would require Flash anyway.
