Did you already tried by updating your Firefox setting and by changing your homepage option? Are you using Firefox with a Mac, with a PC-Windows7 or with Linux?

Yes I did try updating it and changing the homepage option. I even uninstalled it and reinstalled it. I am running pc with xp. Tried about:config reset also that didn't work went into Firefox folder deleted chrome files that had ask in it. Deleted cookies and all temp files. Still nothing

By trying to fix the problem using about:config you are changing the default setup that Firefox had! Do not try to fix problem with that source..... instead, try to uninstall it and delete the program. Then download it again and install it. When you are in the installation process, do not export nothing from the default browser or other browser that have your computer. I think if you start a clean installation, you will have the default homepage from Firefox. If it works let me know I will be waiting for your reply.

If there is a problem with the about:home Home page then try to reset the search engine used on the about:home page.

Reset the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone pref via the right-click context menu to the default on the about:config page and close and restart Firefox to restore the about:home page to its default.

  • Open the about:config page via the location bar
  • Type in the Filter bar: mstone
  • Right-click the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone line and select: Reset
  • Close and restart Firefox

If that didn't help then delete the delete the chromeappsstore.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder and repeat the above.
