nonresponsive script Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:595

Several months ago I updated Firefox (not sure now which version) and since then it is much slower loading and I get this message before it will load Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:595 If I 'stop script' it continues and eventually loads. I prefer Firefox, but Safari loads immediately and so does Internet Explorer.

That problem could be caused by an AntiVirus plugin or its toolbar that is not compatible, or is not updated. I do not see any AV toolbar listed in your "More system details", are you using AntiVirus software ? if so what is it, what is the version, and does it include any additional toolbars, site advisers etc?

Consider at least temporarily disabling any AV toolbars, and possibly even uninstalling it.

tavgp is definitely AVG related (AVG with a prefix and suffix). AVG installed the toolbar. This has been an ongoing problem even on Firefox 2, but it hit the most people once Firefox 3 went into production.

There isn't a problem with AVG Free in itself, just with the extension(s) it installs.

There is more information in

but the directions basically tell you to reinstall AVG Safe without the Link Scanner Component. As long as you keep it disabled you're okay.
