Is there a way of safely removing previous Firefox installation fodlers?

I have two previous installation folders for Firefox (names Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Firefox 3.6 Beta 3). I also have the latter under my control panel as an installed program. I would like to know if there is a way of "garbage collecting," as the beta version is not necessary and neither installation folder is necessary. I am concerned, however, that there may be data that are contained within the folders that are necessary to the functioning of Firefox 4.0. Please let me know.

The old folders will not be used and can safely be deleted. All the files required for operation of Firefox 4 will be in its own installation folder.

Additionally, the user data such as bookmarks and passwords is stored in the profile folder which is separate from the installation folders.

Thank you. I assume that this also means that I can safely uninstall Firefox 3.6 Beta 3. I'll set a restore point anyway.
