how can I adjust margins so that when I print things I don't have all the extra stuff like ads on the sides?

When trying to print off of the internet or Facebook you end up with a bunch of ads on either side of the paper. Its a waste of ink and space and it looks bad. Windows has a way to adjust the margins so that you can stretch out the edges of the paper and make it blank. (Left margin and Right Margin) Just like the Header and Footer, only on the sides of the paper instead of the top and bottom. Is there a way to adjust the margins?
