I am having a problem with Firefox that is driving me NUTS! Every time I have a need to reboot my computer, I lose my settings, cookies, history, and add-ons. My bookmarks are still there however. After rebooting and clicking FF, it changes my settings to the default, and I get the two welcome tabs like I’ve just installed for the first time. The two tabs it opens are the “Welcome to Firefox” tab and the “Mozilla Firefox start page”. Anyway, every time this happens, I lose my settings, cookies, history, and my add-ons. I always have to exit, and use Mozbackup to restore my add-ons from an earlier time. When I restore my add-ons and restart Firefox, it doesn’t show my add-ons. I always have to edit my savings like I had them, and exit. When I reload FF, the add-ons will be there, but all the tabs from the add-ons load in Firefox like I just installed them for the first time instead of restoring them like they were. All the add-on settings are the default ones, and I have to change all the add-on settings by hand too. Also all the websites I typically go to that should stay signed in aren’t, and I have to sign in on all my web pages and tell it to remember me again. I’m getting tired of having to do all of this every time I need to reboot Windows.

I have tried everything I could think of, or suggested in the previous help topics. I even tried uninstalling Firefox, reinstalling it, then restoring my bookmarks and add-ons and it still did it! I don’t know what else to try. Here’s my system info:

Windows Vista ZoneAlarm Extreme Security Version 9.1.008.000 Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.6.2.0 (system settings protector 1.6.6.32) Ad-Aware 8.1.4 Firefox 3.6.3

Hello Andy.

Your computer may be configured to restore your personal files when you reboot it. Tell me: if you add a bookmark and then reboot, when you start Firefox, is the new bookmark still there?

Make sure that ZoneAlarm (ForceField) isn't locking files in the Firefox Profile Folder

I simular problems with Firefox 4.0 bookmarks. When I bookmark a website the next time I boot my computer the bookmark I saved is not there. Just as if I never bookmarked the web page. This happens all the time.
