Download pop up menu is not displayed when a download is executed inside a popup

I have an application that displays a pop up in another window. Downloads can be performed, however when I download a file (.doc, .xls, etc) The download icon and menu are hidden and it's not visible. The file downloads but there's no notification.

This doesn't happen if the downloads is called in the main window (without open a pop window). Instead the file is shown on the corner and the downloads menu is visible . Is there any way to handle both scenarios?
