I try to get my passwords to fit into a cryptic system. Silly me. Firefox updated itself today and wanted me to enter my google password before doing anything. Since my Google password is a cookie, and Firefox is yet another cookie it became a labyrinthine task. Sorry!. Beyond that, Firefox would not accept a security question (the answer to which is precyberhistoristorical). That is my history, which is not much documented. I wish that we didn't need to lose everything as we go about the task of changing passwords all the time. I am about to turn 60, and I love firefox!

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.
Let’s do a full clean re-install;
Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}
Save the file. Then Close Firefox.
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86)
Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac
Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it. See Install Firefox on Linux; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux

Firefox should not be asking for any passwords during an update.
Firefox would not accept a security question (the answer to which is ??????????????????).
Never post any personal information because an adware robot could find it, and start sending you all kinds of spam. This includes e-mail, phone, and home information.
Please remove that information from your post.
