firefox drop down menus can not work without desktop in linux

hi all. i really got a trouble now. i need you guys help. so help me please!!! i want to run firefox in kiosk mode in ubuntu. actually, the only app run on server is firefox. the goal is when system is up, run firefox in kiosk mode automatically. the desktop is seems not need. so i choose the ubuntu 12.04 server for minimal install. i try in thease steps: first, install the ubuntu server . second, installed "xorg, xterm, nodm, xinit and firefox" third, use a script to start the firefox . everything is work fine. but the firefox drop down menus can not work correctly . i tried some websites. and all the same. i don't know why. can you help me? (and when i installed the desktop, lxde, gnome..., the drop down menus can work, why?)
