I have updated to Firefox 13 and now Gmail and Twitter are really slow or won't load at all. I have updated my plugins, I've cleared cache and cookies. What else can I do? Thanks.

I used to be able to right-click on a link and ask for it to be opened in another tab. That option is on the right-click menu, but nothing happens. I am using Windows XP, Firefox 36.04

Just installed Adblock Plus on both IE8 and Firefox 37 – got successful messages on both. Checked on IE8, ABP is working great. Went onto Firefox and its not working.

Went to Windows add/remove programs… found the IE version BUT the Firefox version is not present. Went back and tried to install Adblock Plus again and got the following message:

“Adblock Plus could not be installed because Firefox could not modify the needed file”

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

WHAT CAN I DO TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM?

PS: I fully removed Firefox 36 with Revo and reinstalled version 37 – same problem.

After I first got the message I uninstalled Ffox and reinstalled it. Same message. So I can't get to any ffox menu, or buttons because I only have the one page with the message.

One suggestion was to uninstall and delete "firefox program file" but I can't find any file with that name on the C drive Mozilla Firefox folders

What can I do?

I'm seeing a really weird issue - https://rs2018.raffworks.com/ - on Firefox PC only, after opening a couple of the items up, the scrollbar completely stops working. Sometimes one item, sometimes three or four. But then bang! the scrollbar just locks up completely and it's impossible to scroll the page.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Firefox on macOS is fine.

I'm having a problem with Firefox. On my desktop for the last 2 days. None of the pages will load. Need to find out what I have to do to fix this problem Should I uninstall it and reinstall it or is there something else I can do? Please help.

My setup

I'm using Firefox 47.0 on Fedora (64-bit GNU/Linux) with GNOME shell, and on Windows 10 (64-bit). I also have Firefox Sync on an Android tablet, but I don't do as much web browsing on my tablet, so I haven't needed to look at the bookmarks there...

The problem(s)

On Fedora, the bookmarks in the Firefox bookmarks toolbar rearrange themselves. The bookmarks in one folder shift from the bottom to the top, and some bookmarks in the toolbar shift from left to right. I arrange my bookmarks by loose priority, so this annoying. Whenever I notice the bookmarks being out of order, I drag them back to where they were, but they always move themselves again later. This has been an ongoing issue for a couple months; I've only seriously attempted to troubleshoot the issue over the past week or so, and I'm not having any luck.

I don't think I've ever noticed the bookmarks moving themselves in the middle of a session, so I believe it's actually happening when I close or launch Firefox. However, reproducing this issue has been tricky, since the bookmarks do not *always* shuffle themselves every time I launch Firefox. Depending on how often I open/close the application, I may notice the bookmarks moving themselves once every other day, or a couple times in a single day.

This may be a separate issue, but I noticed it around the same time: On Windows 10, my bookmarks do not sync at all. There three or four bookmarks in the toolbar, but these do not get updated when I change them on my Linux machine, and none of the other bookmarks have synced to the Windows machine.

Things that I've already tried

I've tried reverting my bookmarks to a recent automatic backup (Library > Import and Backup > Restore). No change.

I've tried disabling all addons. No change.

I tried refreshing Firefox, to "reset to factory defaults". No change.

I tried deleting the file `xulstore.json` in my Firefox profile. No change.

I tried installing and running the Places Maintenance extension. I didn't entirely understand all the text output it generated while running, but I don't think it found any real errors. Anyway, no change.

I tried backing up my exports to a JSON file, then closing Firefox, then deleting the places.sqlite file, then restarting Firefox, and importing the bookmarks JSON file. No change.

Bookmarks still rearrange themselves on Linux and do not sync at all on Windows  :(

Enter key or Paste+Go don't work in my Firefox address bar. I have searched, uninstalled, deleted Firefox folders and reloaded Firefox twice, turned off my add-ons, created a new profile, ran in Firefox safe mode, refreshed Firefox, scanned for malware using multiple tools and found no malware, deleted all matter of search bars, etc. Nothing resolves the address bar non-functionality.

No, I can't type "about:config" in the address bar and press enter to forward a file.

My wife says she loaded a Java update that didn't work as intended. Wonderful. I unloaded all things Java and still no good.

Thankfully, my homepage is set to Google and I can search in Google and click the links to navigate.

I also cannot type a URL, nothing happens when I hit enter. I cannot download anything, save a picture (Save As) or any such. I run virus scans and all it finds is tracking cookies - sometimes 900+ of those...

The only way I can go to a web-site, is from the opening Google screen or from my bookmarks.

My husband has been using a reliable medical site for years...suddenly the message popped up "untrusted site." We contacted the site--they connected us to their tech support--he tried everything with us over the phone (cleaning cookies, downloading latest version of firefox) but the only way to solve it was to give firefox the go-ahead to ignore their warning. We then got the site. Today, the same message popped up on another site he uses regularly. Any ideas why this should suddenly happen on reliable sites used successfully for years?

Firefox 47.0 32bit on Windows 7 64bit

The Storage Inspector doesn't seem to work in private browsing mode. I don't know where to report this

To replicate:

1. Set "Firefox Settings >> Privacy >> History" to "Never remember" or "Always use private browsing"

2. Open the Storage Inspector (may need to be enabled in dev tools: see https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Storage_Inspector)

3. Notice that no matter which site you go to, no storage data is displayed. For instance go to google.com and notice that no cookie is shown!

Storage still works behind the scene; it's just not shown in the Storage Inspector. It's as if the inspector is looking for content on the drive (where storage is usually kept) instead of in RAM (where storage is kept in private browsing mode) and as a result finding no content.

Exiting private browsing mode and restarting the browser brings things back to normal. I first noticed the problem immediately after upgrading from FF 46 to 47.

I need help reporting this to the people who need to see it.

Is this a phising scam? Email says it's from accounts.firefox.com.

I'm currently using version 3.6 and there have been a lot of reported issues w/version 4.0. I want to stay on 3.6 but I'm not sure how much longer Mozilla will support it. Is there a lifecycle policy in place for versions. Are there any know End of Life/Support dates??? I can't find any

I've got a dynamically created stylesheet (I pass in variables for starting font size, header colors, etc.) that works perfectly in IE but is ignored in Firefox. The dynamic stylesheet worked fine until we had to add a <doctype> to our pages in order to use JQuery.

Now, it's simply ignoring the .asp stylesheet include. I can see it in the source code, but the page displays in default style.

Is there some sort of tag I'm missing that will make Firefox recognize the stylesheet or am I just out of luck and will have to give up JQuery or make manual stylesheets?

My firefox browser will not open, so I can not try most of the solutions recommended. I do not want to lose stored information such as bookmarks and pass codes so would unstalling and reinstalling cause me to lose that information? I need to speak to a person to help with this, but do not know how to go about it. Should I be contacting Norton or Mozilla?

When I click my Ffox shortcut icon a window pops up from User Account Control asking" Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer??" Then I get a yes/no choice. didn't used to do this step and I would like to eliminate it. Any ideas??/
