Tabs are opened very delayed when clicked a link

In recent Firefox Android app, I have the problem that FF opens the new tab very delayed. Expected behavior is (as it used to be) when clicking a link (new tab link), a new tab starts and immediately shows signs of loading (e.g, top loading bar/line). What actually happens is, that FF jumps to a new blank tab and doesn't show any sign of loading. Only after maybe a minute after switching to other tabs, FF loads the new tab. It is not a connection issue, as this happens with WiFi or when manually typed FF loads the page quickly. Only after clicking a link FF starts a new blank tab and waits without any sign of loading. I am using CyanogenMod 12. FF is up to date.

Is this a performance issue, which I can solve myself? (I don't use plugins or whatsoever).
