What do I do when i cant play a video and my laptop says i am "missing plugins" when I checked them, I only had one plugin and it was up to date. What do I do?
my computer wont let me play any games or videos and i am not exactly "tech savvy" so if someone who has the time, please try to answer the question with a step-by-step plan.

You run Firefox 21 on Linux on a brand new HP laptop? Because various steps are specific to your operating system, could you verify that?
I do believe you most likely need the Flash Player plugin, which is known internally in Firefox as Shockwave Flash.
You can use Adobe's download site to get the installer. Make sure to uncheck any unwanted extras: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
