firefox is slower these days even without any addons or plugins....and chrome is better.....

normally i access to various sites and stuff with firefox.....from the last night its getting slower and slower comparing to chrome......my downstream speed is 8mbs and upstream speed is 1mbps...computer speed is far better as im using i7 computer with 8 gb ram....i tried removing plugins and addons but still its slower....and i even re installed,its still not solved.....always showing connecting and connecting and its take like 1 min to connect to a site and download it...but chrome goes all the way fine.....please fix it because i m always like to use Firefox rather than chrome

Did you check your security software (firewall, anti-virus)?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.
