FF5 pointer now circle with a dot in it
Since I loaded FF5 my pointer, for part of the screen, has become a strange little circle with a dot in it. Other parts of the screen it the usual pointer. Anyone else have this "problem?"
It only appears such in FF5, and not all of the time or over all of the screen.

Whatever it was, it went away. I'm on FF6 now, anyway.
Sorry that no one responded to your first question 2 weeks ago. This site is staffed by unpaid volunteers, users just like yourself, here to help other users. We receive many more questions than can be answered when there are not enough volunteers.
So that you have an answer should the problem occur again, it sounds as though you were in Caret Browsing Mode. Tap the F7 key to toggle Caret Browsing on or off. You can test it to see if that is what was occurring; you receive a warning when entering Caret Browsing and must answer Yes or No.

You need to update some plug-ins:
