Is there another way to close tabs besides right clicking?

When I updated to Firefox 5 the "X" to close tabs disappeared. These are just regular tabs, not app tabs or grouped tabs, etc. The screen shots shown on the update page still show the "X", but I no longer have them. I can close tabs by right clicking and choosing to close the tabs, but it's annoying. Is there another way to close tabs besides right clicking? Can I turn the "X" back on somehow?

You can middle-click a tab to close a tab.

If you have many tabs open then the close button will only appear on the active tab.

There isn't even an X on the active tab.

Did you check http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.tabs.closeButtons ?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I already tried safe mode and I was in default appearance but restarting firefox AND my computer fixed it. Just restarting firefox did not, which seems odd, but I've been tinkering, so maybe I screwed something up? Either way, thank you very much.
