Every time I drag the application icon to my Dock (on both my MacBook Pro and iMac Desktop) it will stay there until I open FF. As soon as I quit FF it disappears. I am placing it on the correct (left) side.

Make sure that Firefox gets installed properly.
Open the DMG file and drag to Firefox program to the application folder on your hard drive.
You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the disk image, but drag it out of the DMG folder instead.
