Whenever I try to go into Facebook or LinkedIn Firefox has already loaded the user name and will not allow me to change it. How do i fix things. My family has multiple sites with all of us having our own accounts. Since installing Firefox only one of us can use the sites without going into Private Browsing. How do I change this?

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.

Clear the cookies from that site to make that site forget you.

  • Remove cookies here: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Thanks for the suggestion but it did nothing. Have cleared cookies, history and restarted multiple times...no luck. I have rescanned Norton focusing on the cookie problem and the user name continues to kick in when hitting enter to log into website....anyone got any other solutions? Thanks!

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
