Running Firefox ver Daylight 33.0 (4119) for iOS against OS ver 14.4.2 on an iPhone 7. Doesn’t happen all that often, but more and more sites are returning the “unsupported browser” message - even ones that worked previously. I also seem to be unable to access the configuration editor using “about:config” in the iOS version.

Any comments or assistance on this? I at first thought that some vestige of Safari was somehow still being reported to the web sites, but I don’t think that’s true any more. I’m about to set the default over to Chrome (but I don’t really want to for all the privacy issues) to test and stay if it works, but I thought I’d try here first...

Please make sure that Firefox is updated to it's latest version through "App Store" under your "Profile". You can also try re-installing which will automatically install the latest software for Firefox. This should solve your issue.

Please let me know if you need further assistance and if you do, make sure to attach clip/screenshots for further elaboration.

Uh - that’s why I listed the version I was running in the original report. The first thing to check. It IS the latest version.

I too get a blank page when I try "about:config" on Fx Daylight 33.0 on my iPhone XR where Fx is my default browser. Frustrating.

I think though that Fx is STILL simply a shell over Safari. I have nothing against Safari but if I want to designate Fx as my default browser on my iPhone XR then I think oy very sad that I just get a shell and not the real thing.

I will NEVER use Chrome. I'll just use Safari but I WANT to use Fx ...the real thing...not a shell over Safari. Funny, but I love my Dell desktop computers going all the way back to my first computer in 1999...but I also love my iPhone XR and since I have been a Fx user since Netscape, and then Phoenix, and then finally Fx 1.0 on my computers I would like to see Fx be more than a Safari shell on my iPhone.

I don't see a lot of sites reporting "unsupported web browser" but that is probably because I simply avoid using my iPhone for the internet and use my two Dell desktop computers instead....I wait until I am at home to use the internet because it is problematic to use Fx on an iPhone.

Edit: How ironic. The only browser that works here and does not give a Forbidden error when trying to post is current Edge...well, it's basically Google now so I guess that is why it works and my Fx browser and default browser Basilsk throw the error.
